In the village Hiermanavičy, Šarkoŭščyna District, July 27, was held festivities "Bulbyany Fest". It looked like a holiday event, organized by the local people for themselves and guests. Folk festival was held in the courtyard of the ordinary country house, which is a private cultural and educational center named Jazep Drozdovich created genuine Belarusian pensioner Ada Raychonok.

Festivities started at 11 o'clock. There were about 50 residents and guests from Hiermanavičy Viciebsk, Połacak, Hłybokaje, Lepiel, Miensk. Participants were treated to traditional potato meals and local drinks, which are used in the manufacture of potato.

Organizers told about the history of Belarus, the origin of the tradition of potato production in Belarus and other countries. There were contests with prizes, live music with the songs and dances of the joint Belarusian. Songs in Belarusian bards sang George and Tatyana Stankevich Matafonova.

The traditional Belarusian potato pancakes prepared in the yard in front of the participants of the holiday and did not stale on plates. Ethnographer Ada Raychonok noted that although the potato is in our national product, but a holiday for the first time, and possibly in the whole of Belarus. She expressed hope that the festival will become a tradition in Hiermanavičy.
