Vitebsk human rights activists hold a demonstration on the Internet. They began collecting signatures for a petition titled "Freedom for outspoken doctor Igor Postnov forcibly detained in a mental hospital in Belarus". All those who wish to sign a request to the address of the Minister of Health of Belarus to psychiatric re-examination of Dr. Igor Postnov.

If an independent expert commission recognizes the fallacy of the findings of psychiatrists - Postnov colleagues who worked with him in Vitebsk mental hospital , it will be the basis for changing the decision of the court of involuntary hospitalization.

Human rights activists believe that the commission of psychiatrists from Vitebsk in determining the status and risk assessment , which he allegedly poses to himself and others, could not be objective, since their work, they are subject to the chief doctor of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Centre of Psychiatry and Addiction Elena Martynova. It is the latter initiated the process of concluding the disgraced doctor in a psychiatric hospital. On the basis of examination of Vitebsk psychiatrists dependent of Martynova, the court decided to violent treatment Postnov.

The petition was published in English and Russian languages. It is assumed that it will be signed by both the citizens of Belarus and the inhabitants of the world, indifferent to the issue of human rights. It is supposed to collect 50,000 signatures.
