An ensign was sentenced to five years of imprisonment, because of the fault of a conscripted soldier at the Łośvida training ground near Viciebsk. This was reported in the Viciebsk regional court.

About the incident, which occurred in August last year during the economic works at the test site for 13 kilometers from Viciebsk, reported on February 22, the newspaper "Naša Niva". According to the publication, the ensign threw a shovel into the soldier, and he had a rupture of the spleen.

"Viciebsk regional court considered this case, now an appeal has been filed, while the verdict has not entered into legal force," – said the assistant to the head of the Viciebsk regional court Natalya Platonenko.

The verdict of the district court was pronounced on 30 January. The date of consideration of the case in the regional court is still unknown.
