Literally a couple of days after the appointment with the name of Leonid Penkovsky was a scandal. The official was appointed to the post on May 12 and after about a week mysteriously disappeared – he stopped going to work, did not respond to calls. Then came the information that Penkovsky was found in the house of his relative, and the siloviki had to take the house by storm.

At the same time it was announced that the official "was in a morbid state". What was hidden behind these words, no one explained, so the residents of Vorša had to be content with rumors. And there were two main versions: either the newly appointed chairman abused alcohol, or he was involved in corruption schemes and was hiding from responsibility.

These rumors are still not confirmed and not refuted. Regarding the new employment of Leonid Penkovsky, official sources do not report.

The May invasion of the security official into the home of Leonid Penkovsky's relatives was condemned by Alexander Lukashenko. First of all, because it was not agreed with him. Lukashenko said:

"Who gave the right to the person agreed to be appointed by the president, to invade the house? After all, in order for law enforcers to investigate a person who is a member of the presidential staff list, the consent of the president is required!"

The words of the indignation of Alexander Lukashenko were quoted by the state media.

As for Alexander Poznyak, he still held the position of presidential assistant inspector for the Viciebsk region.
