The fact that the political prisoner Mikhail Zhamchuzhny is in the quarantine of the corrective colony No. 9 (Horki, Mahiloŭ region), Viciebsk human rights activists learned from the short letter they received the other day. This is the third corrective colony in which one has to serve a prisoner of conscience.
On July 11, the Hłybokaje court ended the examination of the criminal case on illegal migration, in which UK citizen Alan Smith and two Belarusian citizens were accused. The judge re-qualified the accusation against the Englishman from part 2 of Article 371¹ of the Criminal Code to a softer part 1 and sentenced him to two years in prison under conditions of a general regime.
In continuation of the topic of temporary detention isolators of the Vitebsk region, we quote the story of the co-chairman of the newly created BCD party, Pavel Sevyarynets. Pavel, as a former political prisoner, is well acquainted with the penitentiary system of Belarus. This year he was punished with 15 days of arrest after the "March of the non-parasites" in Vorša, which was held on March 12.
In order to optimize the structure of the penitentiary system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Navapołacak, the medical and labor dispensary No. 8 is liquidated and a correctional colony No. 1 is created on its base. The corresponding decree No. 223 was published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
A resident of Viciebsk, Oksana Isakova, says her son Viktor Seleznev and his cousin Alexander Kudryavtsev, who are serving their sentence in Škłoŭ colony No. 17, are in danger. Pavel Levinov's complaint against the decision of the judge of the October Court Inna Grabovskaya from April 17 was considered by the judge of the Viciebsk Regional Court Irina Smolyakova. According to the decision of the lower court, the human rights activist was brought to administrative responsibility for part 1 of Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Violations for participation in mass events on March 25 and 26 and punished by 15 days of arrest.
Navapołacak Court on April 26 denied a citizen Dmitry Solovyov in consideration of his appeal against the decision of the executive committee. Dmitry believes that the decision of the local authorities of the venue of public events and pay for them violates their right to peaceful assembly.
