The regional prosecutor's office organizes a check on the activities of Połacak police officers who searched the office of the Free Trade Union of Workers of the Połacak-Steklovolokno plant. The corresponding instruction was sent to Viciebsk by Alexey Kavzunovich, Deputy Head of Supervision of the Investigatory Agencies of the Prosecutor General's Office.

After the search on March 24 at the office of the Free Trade Union of Belarus (SPB), the workers sent a complaint to the Prosecutor General's Office. The search in the office of the trade union was sanctioned by the prosecutor of the Połacak district Troshko Sergey Alexandrovich on the basis of the testimony of an unidentified person about the possible presence in the office of items related to the crime. As a result of the search, nothing was found in the office of the trade union, as indicated in the protocol.

Workers of the Połacak-Steklovolokno plant, which are members of a free trade union, demanded from the law enforcement agencies of the state:
"Take measures to prevent violations of workers' rights in the form of an obstacle to the legitimate exercise of the activities of the trade union;
Conduct an investigation and bring to criminal responsibility a person who gave knowingly false testimony that led to obstruction of the lawful implementation of the activities of the Free Trade Union of Belarus ".

Deputy Head of the Department for Supervision of the Execution of Laws in the Activities of the Bodies of Inquiry of the General Prosecutor's Office of Belarus Alexey A. Kavzunovich redirected the complaint of the workers to the Deputy Prosecutor of the Viciebsk region to the Senior Justice Adviser Vladimir Hook:
"It is sent for the organization of consideration in accordance with the competence of the complaint ... on the actions and decisions of the employees of the ESD KM Połacak District Department of Internal Affairs Tarasov S.S. and Sizov A.A. on March 24, 2017 on office premises No. 13, located on building 3, Uspenskaya Str. in Połacak, and other issues. On the decision taken, please inform the applicant..."

Deputy Chairman of the SPB Sharakh Nikolay: "The workers want to receive an answer about the legitimacy of the actions of the police, who initiated a search in the office of the trade union, which hampered the trade union work. We will insist that those responsible are brought to justice, on the basis of knowingly false testimony, a search was carried out in the trade union office. The fact that the testimony is false is confirmed by the result of the search: nothing illegal was found."
