In Połacak completed the reconstruction of the monument to the letter "Ў", said local ethnographer Andrei Buhovetsky.

Author of the project of reconstruction – Połacak artist Igor Kurzhalov. He also produced and the previous version of the monument, which is established in 2003, during the celebration of the Belarusian Written Language Day. In 2014, the composition damaged, this year local authorities have found the money to update it.

Monument changed. Quote Ryhor Borodulin "Ad Eŭfrasińni, ad Skaryny, ad Połacku pačaŭsia śviet" used to be on a round plate plinth, now – on one of the faces of the stele. The updated version can be read and the name of the author of this line. The letter "S" in the word "light" is inscribed sign-cygnet Francis Skaryna – the sun and the moon, which overlap each other.

On the second face before the stele was stylized letter "Ў" now – its thumbnail in italics. Above – a series of words in different fonts, which is a letter: Eŭfrasińna, Brasłaŭ, nastaŭnіk, sloŭnіk, dziejasłoŭ, etc.
