The meeting with the bard, writer and journalist Zmiter Bartosik was held in Hlybokaje. He presented the third in a row, a recently published book, The Chinese Dentist Clinic. He also read his essays from the series “Belarusian Cockroaches” and sang “Old songs for new texts”.
According to Zmiter Bartosik, the book “Chinese Dentist Clinic” was written for a very long time, and it did not immediately reflect exactly as a book. It was a series of programs “Vostraja Brama” on Radio Liberty, where he had the “Forgotten Addresses” section:
- I traveled and searched for exactly the forgotten addresses of Belarusian cultural heroes: poets of the 19th century, prose writers and artists, poets of the 20th century. This book is filled with the era that is now called the era of stagnation. But when you read, how they lived, what they lived with, then it even becomes a little jealous. Because in that stagnation so many interesting things were created and, as it turns out, a genius that God grant us to surpass that stagnation.
At the event, all comers purchased books with the author's autograph, as well as CDs with his songs "Road to Vilnius". Some songs from this disc were performed by Zmitser Bartosik during a meeting in Hlybokaje.
