The accident occurred in Navapołacak while repairing one of the buildings of Połacak State University on Blokhin Street. According to the preliminary version of the law enforcement agencies, when dismounting the staircase railing on the fourth floor, their parts were thrown out of the window. As a result, one of the workers was fatally injured by a fallen rail element.

The investigative team was sent to the scene, the press service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Viciebsk Regional Executive Committee reported.

The investigative team operates at the site of the incident near the PSU training building. The dead man was laying down the dismounted staircases below, thrown away by the second worker. Upon the death of a person, a criminal case under part 1 of Article 144 of the Criminal Code was initiated - causing death by negligence, Oksana Lazko, the official representative of the UK in the Viciebsk region, specified.
