Judge Hłybokaje District Court Andrei Tarasevich was awarded 35 basic units by the independent journalist from Hłybokaje Dmitry Lupach. Dmitry was tried in the new building of Hłybokaje Court, which was opened several days ago.
The journalist got an administrative case for the plot about joining Hłybokaje Milk Cannery to the feed mill. The case was again initiated by the Hłybokaje militiamen, in particular Vadim Kuchits, Senior Inspector of the Law Enforcement and Prevention Department of the Hłybokajee District Department of the Interior.
Dmitry Lupach believes that he was punished unfairly: "But it happens everywhere: in Homiel, and here in Hłybokaje, and in Minsk now. Therefore, I believe that the journalistic community needs to turn to the leadership of those countries through international structures, through European structures, in order to somehow exert pressure on our country. After all, the institution of accreditation, which exists in Belarus, must be abolished. As far as I know, in all civilized countries there is no such thing, a person can freely disseminate information."
During the opening of the new building of the Hłybokaje Court, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Valentin Sukalo said: "Everything is there for justice, and at the same time it is done beautifully and comfortably." But there was no justice in Hłybokaje – Dmitry Lupach was punished again. Despite the fact that, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on the Mass Media, only media outlets can be held liable under Article 22.9. It applies only to legal entities, and not to physical persons.
