Viciebsk center will be one of three such agencies, which will be created in the country. The center will be foreign nationals, which are awaiting deportation from the territory of Belarus.

Management supervisory and executive activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has already picked up a room for the future center, but it will not be created before 2018, since it takes time to solve organizational issues.

"The issue of the establishment of centers for the temporary detention of illegal migrants from among foreign nationals is now engaged in a special working group, which includes employees of the Interior Ministry and the Belarusian office of the International Organization for Migration. Emphasize that the centers will be designed exclusively for the detention of foreigners awaiting deportation, not to accommodate the refugees," – he said in an interview with BelTA Igor Shunevich, Minister of Internal Affairs.

He said that over the past year the Interior Ministry authorities uncovered 69 crimes connected with the organization of illegal migration. Another 319 reported crimes relating to violations of the terms of the ban on entry to Belarus. In 2016 there were deported 2332 foreigners, and more than 8 thousand people included in the list of persons whose entry is prohibited or undesirable.
