On the eve of the autumn Fathers, 31 October, members of the BPF visited the national memorial, created near the village Palai in the perpetuation of the victims of Stalinist repression.
Annual visit to honor and reward citizens killed in the vicinity of Viciebsk during the Stalinist era, was for party members of the BPF already a tradition.
July 29, 2007 a few dozen meters from these graves repressed near the highway Viciebsk – border with Russia, 400 meters from the village Palai on a large meadow memorial cross was erected. Cross erected in memory of those killed NKVD citizens.
In the prewar period this place was part of a number of other, intended for the destruction of the Soviet punitive persons whose repressive authorities consider dangerous to their power.
In the dark period of many victims of the NKVD department of Viciebsk were secretly killed and buried in the vicinity of the city. One of these places and there were Palai. Although the memorial originated twenty-five years ago, during which time he was repeatedly destroyed and desecrated by unknown persons.
Viciebsk activists had planned the day to clean up the territory of the memorial, but to my surprise saw a well harvested unknown clearing. Last but not least the maintenance of cleanliness and order in the clearing forestry contributed installed camcorder.
Before leaving the BPF representatives lit candles that were placed in the form of a cross.
