Šumilina district receives help from the Americans. International charitable public association "Sophia" from the United States to provide local territorial center of social service of the population the grant, which went for its intended purpose – bought the necessary furniture and technical equipment for the department, where the clock abide senior citizens and the disabled.
According to the director Valentina TCSSP Stuhr, Americans did even more than they asked for. there were as many as 6 beds in the department with special mattresses for bed-ridden patients, 10 cabinets, 11 cabinets. Purchased and bedding – 16 sets, as well as the necessary items for the kitchen – pots, plates, cups, thermoses. In general, the American charity was quite a decent sum: to the Belarusian money – 70 million rubles.
Personally verify the relevance of the acquired things on Shumilinschinu volunteers arrived "Sophia" from the United States, Gary and John Keylin and Executive Director of the Sergei Zubovich. And everyone said they only "thank you".
Gary (last worked as a manager in the laboratory of Forensic Medicine) and Keylin (formerly Cook) – pensioners, charity is not the first year, since, in their opinion, the matter of honor. Visiting a territorial center, foreign guests stressed that all the furniture, all the things that are purchased, must benefit the people.
The volunteers were told that the guests we have the 16th month, so hurry to finish things and go home to seven children (which, of course, already adults) and of 38 grandchildren. However, they added to Belarusians waiting for the other volunteers, who will come to replace them.
Director Šumilina TCSSP sponsors expressed sincere gratitude for the help they have given the district. In memory of the Belarusian-American cooperation and the visit to the region by representatives of charitable organizations received souvenirs.
As for the projects that have been implemented in the country this year, they raised such provincial cities as Vitebsk, Brest, Gomel, Mogilev. There was carried out a project on neonatal resuscitation: physicians came from the US and workshops were carried out in maternity homes, shared their experience of Belarusian colleagues on how to save the lives of children who at birth revealed various diseases and disorders. As part of the project in many hospital bought equipment that is designed to save the lives of babies.
Funding Source "Sofia" – humanitarian service of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). And the money that has been collected, are voluntary donations of people from around the globe.
