After the exhumation of human remains unaccounted for burial near the village of Chajsy soldiers of the 52nd separate specialized search battalion began a propaganda campaign on crediting to the account of unknown victims of the German occupiers. Residents of nearby villages, which relate to the times of Stalin's repressions, outraged: they believe that the government blatantly distort the historical truth.
In December, the newspaper "Vitebskiye Vesti" published an article "Activists have found a forgotten grave in Viciebsk region" whose author says it all: "Viciebsk "Kurapaty" – is another echo of the war". According to the author, social activists are wrong, and all the facts that have been found in a forest near Haythami remains belong to victims of war. To confirm this version involved authoritative witnesses. Then you and the search battalion archaeologist Vadim Tomilin, and diary fighting squad named Kurmyalev 1st Belarusian Partisan Brigade. But that's if you read carefully, it turns out that Vadim Tomilin not quite sure ("lost a significant number of items that can help you make a more precise subsidies ..."), and the blog is not known who has seen and who knows what it specifically says.
As social activists believe if the authorities really care about the objective investigation, it would have paid attention to the evidence, and the locals who know about the events of that distant and tragic history. Today about twenty residents of villages Chajsy, Drykolle, Mazałava, Łužasna and Viciebsk city witnessed by the fact that local residents strongly associated burial in the woods with Stalin's repression. But to expect from the officials of objectivity and impartiality – to fail to understand the nature and essence of this power. And there is nothing surprising: the ratio of civil servants to the same theme of Stalinist repressions throughout Belarus.
The above article is on a par with the infamous opus young writer Andrei Lazutkin, who recently tried to convince the public that are buried in Kurapaty victims of the Nazis. But do not be surprised of such a position. In states where there are valued political freedoms and human rights, the attitude to human life and the memory of the past is the norm. And in these countries will always be full of “Lazutkins” willing for the sake of a mythical esprit de corps and the strength to go on any mode of falsification and distortion. It is clear that the government, which has not condemned or does not repent of terror on the part of his predecessors, by definition cannot be moral. So expect her moral decisions is not necessary.
The only thing that remains in the current circumstances any honest Belarusians – is to stay conscious civic position on all key issues. And, thank God, people with this position a lot.
He says the native of the village of Bujeva (Mazałava) Goncharov Dmitry Stepanovich (born in 1928), a resident of the village of Chajsy:
– Events, which I will discuss below, occurred in 1939. At that time, the farm was about ten – fifteen calves. And the two of us drove them to the field. We were then forced to work too early. My partner was a year or two or three older than me. His name was Paul Borochov. In the summer we had were shepherds. Then, during the war, the Germans arrested him and sent him to Germany, but he returned home.
In the evening, it happened, as soon as the dark, on the highway from the city began to move the closed car with barred windows, which are then folded to move in the direction of the Vierabjovy wood. We did not know, and said, "What are they bringing in there?"
So one evening, we cattle from the pasture, we were missing one calf in the barn. We went to look, and it was getting dark. I had just passed through the crossing another car with barred windows. Sometimes calves crossed the railroad, so we went to look at the other side of the calf. We hear shots are deaf, not a rifle. As I now understand, this pistol shots were. I say to another: "Let's go back, terrible!" But he does not agree: "No! Let's go to! Maybe they're our calf killed and skinned, and then in his car taken away – and look then the wind in the field! "Only we moved thirty meters from the railway as from the bushes come up to us two in the form of: "What are you doing here?" Paul did not cry, and I immediately yelled, frightened. We have explained the reason why wander here at night. And they answered, "Go away from here, so that more do not appear here!" So we immediately and left. A calf our next day found in Wetlands. He croaked. Since then his father for the deaths of several workdays removed.
Yet I cannot remember such a case: telling me after the war, the foreman of the kolkhoz Eremeev Anton, they used a remote area near the crossing lived. They gathered the men told – said that in the forest shot Vierabjovy. I've heard about it many times. In the 39th year of all the farms into collective farms herded House Eremeev also moved into the village. So one day he arrived at the former manor pick something from what is left. Not far from his garden saw a recently buried pit. He came. He said that, though, in some places the earth was moving. He dug the heel of sand, saw the sleeve of his jacket, the color of which seemed familiar. Before the war we had a collective farm chairman Romashko, such a good person was. Name it, unfortunately I do not remember. I have, together with his daughter at school. And it just took that year. We arrived at night and taken away. Eremeev thought that jacket that belonged to the Chairman. He went to his wife daisies and told her about the discovery. I do not know whether she went or not. People then were scared, beans even berries and mushrooms in the forest did not go. After the war, she and her daughter went somewhere.
About any mass executions of civilians in the vicinity of Chajsy during the war, Dmitry Stepanovich, like other witnesses, he knows nothing. In addition, he noted that, if they were, then the Germans would not have to carry their victims so far into the woods and hide them in dozens of pits. Typically, the Germans were shot and buried in one place and in one huge pit. This is evidenced by the recently marked the honors due to the memoirs of Lydia Ivanovna Sukhodolskaya unknown burial of war victims near the village Baraulany, Viciebsk district, which is located next to the road on the edge of the cemetery.
Dmitry Stepanovich without hesitation agreed to show us the places that spoke. And as we drove to the Vierabjovy woods, his memories were transferred to pre-war times. He recalled the life of the hamlet, the name of tracts, forests, already existent settlements and their inhabitants. In the place where before the war was moving, we have moved the railway and headed into the woods, where he got in 1939 came the pistol shot.
It was evident that recently covered with human remains after exhumation of the soldiers search battalion holes and memorable crosses very shocked Dmitry Stepanovich. Fearing the future fate of the remains, he asked again, and could it be that they are simply thrown away?
