In January-August 2014 in the Vitebsk region unprofitable were 160 organizations, or 15.2% of the total number of organizations (in the same period of 2013 - 9.1%). Sum of net losses of unprofitable enterprises in the eight months of this year amounted to 781.3 billion rubles, or 17.9% more than in January-August of last year, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Leader in the industry became unprofitable organizations - 29.3% of the total number of organizations. Followed by trade, repair of motor vehicles, household goods and personal items (18.2%); health and social services (16.7%); agriculture (11.8%); transportation (10.5%).

In the whole country during January-August 2014 were unprofitable in 1223 the organization, or 15.1% of the total number of organizations (in the same period of 2013 - 747 companies, or 9.2%). Amount of net losses of unprofitable enterprises in January-August this year amounted to 8.8 trillion rubles, or 1.8 times more than in January-August last year.
