Helen Semenchukova faces a fine of from 2 to 5 million rubles or administrative arrest

June 30, the district court of Vitebsk October began the proceedings by Elena Semenchukova. An activist of "European Belarus" is charged with an offense specified in Article 23.34 of the Administrative Code - "violation of the order of organization or holding mass actions." It is judged on the part of Article 3 of the Administrative Code

according to which a breach of a mass gathering, if repeated throughout the year, activist faces a fine of from 20 to 50 base units or administrative arrest.

The trial began as 10:00, but after some time has been interrupted. Judge Ina Hrabovska decided that the police, who detained an activist, something made a mess in the documents prepared for the court, and sent it back for revision. While the police "doing enough" paper, Helen Semenchukova held in October police station area. From there the afternoon it was brought back to court, and the process is resumed. The second trial for the day did not last long - she said the request for involvement in the process of counsel, the judge decided to satisfy the request and adjourned. Continuation of the case is scheduled for 15:00 on July 5.

Elena Semenchukova was arrested by police on the eve of the morning. Detained together with her and her brother, Sergei. Young people are distributed among the passers-by leaflets calling to boycott the upcoming parliamentary elections. Distribution of campaign materials policemen considered a violation of the law on mass events - brother and sister were taken to the police department of October amounted to a protocol. Later, Sergei, who is a minor, was allowed to go home. Lena kept at the station until the evening, then taken to a detention center, where solitary confinement she had to spend the night and morning where she was taken to the temple of justice.
