Orsha residents want to know what its owners are doing to preserve the architectural monument

Last fall, Orsha historians sent a collective letter to Metropolitan Filaret. They asked that he has promoted to preserve the architectural monument of the 18th century, the building of the former Basilian monastery. And received a reply from him, and from the "responsible for the revival of the Holy Protection Monastery in Orsha" abbess Anfisa (Lyubchak) and nun Daniela (Tyatkova). Last sent "report" about the conservation of the architectural monument in the last 8 years, which has no points and a dozen.

"Responsible" nun Daniela and abbess Anfisa of St. Pokrovskaga monastery in Tolochin, followed by "fixed" Orsha historical monument, write that garbage removed, fenced building fence boards scored windows and doors (each can be sure that not all) and part of the building was covered with a roof (no more than one-fourth part). And next to a wooden church built. What does it matter to preserve the monuments of architecture - is not clear, says Tatiana Voronina, a former employee of the museum and one of the authors of the letter:

"More has been written that ordered the building restoration project, and that project documentation "in a state of completion". We have been hearing it for a year! And I would like to take part in public discussion of the project. And learn the fate of the money donated to the restoration of architectural monuments. as you know, the money for a charity account listed and our countryman, artist Mikola Kupava and other people. Many tried to buy something in a church bench in a department store, because it was said, that means there are also going to deal restoration. only and not known how much of the funds collected, how we can hope for new donations, such necessary in this case, if the flow of money remains a mystery ? public has a right to know where the donated funds go!"

Maybe cash assistance of people to Vitebsk Diocese of the Orthodox Church is not needed at all. Letter from local historians, for example, are not written on plain paper, and on a special, decorated with the figures of the Basilian monastery itself... So, some funds have "responsible" is. Then why architectural monument stood again next winter without a roof, even the time?

Orsha residents who signed the collective letter, waiting for answers and collected money, and the exact timing of the start of restoration work. And not another unconvincing "declaration of love" to the object of historical heritage.
