George Stankevich threatened with the penalty for the "samizdat"

Teacher, activist movement "For Freedom " George Stankevich notified that against him initiated an administrative case for violation of the Law on Mass Media. Stankevich - founder and editor of the samizdat newspaper "Kryvіnka" which he distributes in Beshenkovichi region.

George Stankevich said that on March 27 to work for him came senior officer of the police department Beshenkovichsky Dmitry Karas and said he would take up a report and explain the administrative proceedings:

"I was told that there is evidence of two entrepreneurs Beshenkovichsky Co-operative market that the 22 March, I was distributing his newspaper there. This fact, I do not hide. But refused to sign the report, compiled by a policeman in Russian - Dmitry Carp offered to translate it into the Belarusian language that I understand all right, and then with my signature will have no problems. I went to the next lesson, and the security officer, as I was later transferred to colleagues, began to resent in rough shape my behavior. Even made ??another record - that I refused to sign the first. But teachers have recorded it, that failure was only that I will not sign the protocol, written in Russian. With this policeman and left."

But George Stankevich decided to bring the matter to its logical conclusion: wrote a letter to the head of the police department Beshenkovichsky Oleg Novikov that employees should know the state Belarusian language. And if you do not know, you should arrange for them to special classes. However, a substantive response to his statement, Mr. Stankevich has received:

"March 29 I received a reply from the police, but on the Belarusian language in it - not a word. Written only that the proceedings in my administrative case has been completed. According to police, I broke part 2 of article 22.9 relating to the media. Set a list of articles of the Law on Mass Media, disturbed me as the founder and publisher of "Kryvіnka". This illicit manufacture of media, and the illegal distribution, and an indication of false information on the editorial board... All this in more detail I will explain in court. "

However, the subpoena George Stankevich has not yet received. He has the opinion that the process generally want to spend in his absence. After all witnesses have already received an invitation to the court on April 2.

Generally, this will be the third and third administrative process to deal with such accusations against the editor and publisher of "Kryvіnka". In 2010, George Stankevich punished by a fine of 20 basic units, in 2012, the fine was already 40 basic units. To all, the case against "Kryvіnka" in 2010 was also initiated during the election campaign - then George Stankevich Beshenkovichi ran for district council. This year he also participated in the elections, and already ran in the district, and in the Vitebsk regional councils. According to official estimates, he lost the pro-government candidate, his rivals.

George Stankevich draws attention to the fact that each room regularly sends its publication in Minsk - in a number of libraries, the Ministry of Information and National Book Chamber of Belarus. There claims to "Kryvіnka" never received their presents only the local police.

In "Kryvіnka" editor and publisher puts local news and news from all over the country, critical and analytical materials, the content of which often contradicts the official point of view. And also own poetry. George Stankevich - poet and author of several hundred songs in his poems.
