Dr. Igor Postnov has failed to collect 3 thousand euros from the Executive Committee

October Vitebsk district court dismissed the physician's complaint on the prohibition of a rally-requiem against police lawlessness. Judge Elena Popkova decided that the October district administration was right, forbidding share Igor Postnova that he was going to spend the last year in December.

However, the doctor from Vitebsk believes that the district authorities hit him with a personal insult, not allowing to hold the sole funeral picket:

"I asked for permission to remember the victims of police violence, including my friends, one of whom was killed by police exceeded their powers. I believe that this is a big national problem, while the police work cruel people, and therefore was going to hold a rally under the slogan "Clean militia from those prone to violence and sadism". Share banned on the grounds that I did not fulfill the requirements referred to in the decision of the executive committee on the organization of mass actions - not servicing contracts picket with the police, ambulance workers and public services. I think that in this case, these requirements are unfounded: the trash behind I am able to remove itself if it will, if necessary, call an ambulance can too. As for the police, I purposely invited all staff to discuss this issue."

Igor Postnov wrote in judicial appeal, compiled with the help of human rights activist Peter Ivanov that wants to recover from the officials three thousand euros in damages. In case of victory, he promised to give the money to the orphanage. However, representatives of the October court administration was not: the judge read the official paper to consider the case in the absence of officials who relied on official employment. Additional application to still cause officials to court, was also not satisfied.

Judge Elena Popkov tried to ban human rights activists and local activists to attend the trial. She began to court for 5 minutes before the announced deadline and wanting process came to a couple of minutes before the specified time, the hall is empty. Had to apply to the president of the court and show the clock in the hallway to still get on the court.

Mr. Postnov dissatisfied injustice by the judge Elena Popkov said she challenged:

"It immediately became clear that the judge is not interested in a fair hearing of the case. That she does not even want to see other people process. But the challenge was not accepted, and Elena Popkov continued its consideration of the case. Finally she decided that my claims to public servants unfounded. And I think that's such restrictions on pickets and other actions officials are pushing citizens to any unauthorized actions. So let then do not be surprised when we will have our "maidan", because our citizens also want to enjoy their rights to assemble, to publicly express their views. And they are frustrated to do it."

Dissatisfied with the result, Igor Postnov going to challenge the decision of the district court in the regional court. And at the highest levels, if required.
