Human rights activist asks initiate an administrative proceeding against a judge

Paul Levinau addressed to the head of the ICAA ATC Vitebsk regional executive committee, a statement of the offense, which he had witnessed. The event took place at the building of the regional court: Judge Irina Smolyakova that came out of the court, decided to cross the road, but went not to the pedestrian crossing and straight on the carriageway in the wrong place, creating an obstacle to traffic. On the remark of the human rights activist judge responded only grin, said Paul Levinau.

In a statement, the human rights activist asks the chief road traffic police initiate an administrative proceeding against Irina Smolyakova for violation of her rules of the road. According to Levinau, one of the tasks of the administrative process is that each person who has committed an offense, regardless of his rank and position, has been subjected to a just penalty.

"The provisions of Article 24.4" knowingly false statement or explanation "of the Code of Administrative Offences I know and understand," - Paul Levinau a postscript at the end of his statement, the head of the traffic police. Perhaps he remembered when he wrote that, as recently as viteblyanin Peter Ivanov also asked to punish for violation of traffic rules officials. But then in the end were punished not the police, who in the opinion of Ivanov committed an offense, and the Ivanov - he allegedly slandered police officers, which violated the said article 24.4.

The point may seem de minimis to mention about it in the news, but it can become a kind of test for whether a legal state of Belarus. Recently, in the days of the alleged actions of the opposition against the activists throw reinforced strength of traffic police. They are constantly on duty and about ships, when the processes taking place there loud, attracting the attention of the public.

Traffic cops hunt not only for car drivers, who often stopped and detained on trumped-up reasons, but also for activists pedestrians: God forbid, if one of them enters the road at a distance of one meter from the "zebra" - the penalty, and and that the detention was not avoided.

Now if the judge punished according to article of the Administrative Code, which are often punished by the opposition and civil society activists? Head of the Department of Internal Affairs UGAI Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee when the application will deal with Paul Levinau, has an excellent opportunity to demonstrate that in our country, all are equal before the law.
